Paver Patio and Landscape Overhaul Coming Together in Madison WI

This one is almost done - and it's already looking sharp. We're wrapping up a full backyard overhaul in Madison that brings together a paver patio, built-in step lighting, natural stone steppers, and fresh mulch beds. Every piece was planned to work together, not just look good on its own.

The paver work here is layered. There's a circular patio in the back with a clean contrasting border, and then the entry steps up to the house are built from large-format dark pavers with warm amber lights recessed right into the risers. Those step lights aren't just for looks - they make the space usable at night and add a level of safety that matters when you've got people moving between levels in the dark.

The natural stone steppers set into the dark mulch bed are one of those details that pulls everything together. Irregular granite slabs like these give the yard a grounded, natural feel that complements the more structured paver work nearby. It's the kind of contrast that makes a yard feel intentional without feeling overdone.
